A Struggling Swiatek Overcomes Eala in Three Sets

Swiatek won her match against Eala in 2 hours and 14 minutes. After three sets, the four-time Roland-Garros champion prevailed with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. In a tightly contested first set, the Filipina pulled ahead by showing great efficiency—converting both break points she earned. Meanwhile, the world number two failed to capitalise on her opportunities (only 1 out of 7 break points won). Later, the Polish player raised her level, displaying much more consistency, especially during crucial points (winning 3 out of 4 break points in the second set). The 22-year-old then took control by breaking her opponent’s serve early in the third set. For a spot in the round of 16, Swiatek will face Noskova. She is also aiming for an eighth consecutive win in this tournament.
