Federer to Start the Next 24 Hours of Le Mans
Roger Federer will be the guest of honour at the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, taking place from 14 to 15 June, as announced by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest on Thursday.
The eight-time Wimbledon champion will wave the tricolour flag to signal the start of the famous endurance race.
"It’s a great honour to have been invited to start the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a race as legendary as it is demanding. I’ve always been fascinated by the commitment, precision, and endurance it requires. Being at the heart of this iconic event will be a very special moment," said Federer in comments shared on the race’s official website.
He will follow in the footsteps of Zinédine Zidane, who started the previous edition. In the tennis world, only Rafael Nadal had been invited to take part in this tradition back in 2018. The race will begin at 4 PM.
