A Struggling Swiatek Overcomes Eala in Three Sets

Swiatek won her match against Eala in 2 hours and 14 minutes. After three sets, the four-time Roland-Garros champion prevailed with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. In a tightly contested first set, the Filipino player pulled ahead by displaying great efficiency: converting both break points she earned. Meanwhile, the world number two failed to capitalise on her opportunities (winning just one of seven break points). Later, the Polish player raised her game, showing much more consistency, particularly during crucial points (winning 3 out of 4 break points in the second set). The 22-year-old then took control by breaking her opponent’s serve early in the third set. For a spot in the round of 16, Swiatek will face Noskova. She is also aiming for an eighth consecutive victory in this tournament.
