The courts at Queen's were very slippery," Isner vents about the warm-up tournaments played before Wimbledon

In the latest episode of the *Nothing Major* podcast, John Isner discussed the start of the grass season and the tournaments that help players acclimatise to the surface before Wimbledon. He was highly critical of these events leading up to the London Grand Slam: "I couldn’t stand these grass warm-up tournaments. I couldn’t stand the courts. The courts at Wimbledon are extremely different compared to those at Queen’s. The courts at Queen’s were very slippery. I played there a few times, and I couldn’t move properly. And they wouldn’t let us practise on the main courts before the first balls were struck on Monday. The year I reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon, I didn’t play any warm-up tournament. So for me, playing matches beforehand didn’t matter.
