Anisimova knocks out top seed Zheng to reach Queen's final

Anisimova faced Zheng in the Queen's semi-final. The two players had met twice before on the tour, with the Chinese holding a clear advantage (2-0). However, both matches had been closely contested. The first set saw a dominant performance from the American, who was ultra-efficient in crucial moments (2/2 break points converted), despite a tight start to the match. While everything seemed to be going the 23-year-old's way, the 2024 Olympic champion showed resilience, turning the tide by creating numerous opportunities on her opponent's serve (4/8 break points converted) to level the semi-final. Anisimova, however, converted all her break points (3/3) despite losing the set. In the third and final set, the world No. 15 won the battle against the Chinese, first breaking at 3-3 before sealing a solid victory in 2 hours and 13 minutes with a scoreline of (6-2, 4-6, 6-4). Zheng was too shaky on her serves and not clinical enough in key moments. She will face Maria (No. 86) in the final. The German qualifier eliminated the tournament's second seed Keys (6-3, 7-6).
