A Struggling Swiatek Overcomes Eala in Three Sets

Swiatek won her match against Eala in 2 hours and 14 minutes. After three sets, the four-time Roland-Garros champion prevailed with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. In a tightly contested first set, the Philippine player pulled ahead by displaying great efficiency, converting both of her break point opportunities. Meanwhile, the world No. 2 failed to capitalize on her chances, winning only one of seven break points. Later, the Polish player raised her level of play, showing much more consistency, particularly during crucial points (winning 3 out of 4 break points in the second set). The 22-year-old then took control by breaking her opponent’s serve early in the third set. For a spot in the round of 16, Swiatek will face Noskova. She is also aiming for an eighth consecutive victory in this tournament.
