"That represents a real challenge," Keys discusses the transition from clay to grass

Madison Keys quickly adapted to grass. After her quarter-final defeat at the French Open against Coco Gauff, the world No. 8 is already back on the courts and has begun her preparation for Wimbledon, which starts at the end of the month. The Australian Open winner last January is currently participating in the WTA 500 at Queen's in London and has qualified for the semi-finals. The No. 2 seed of this tournament eliminated two Russian players, Anastasia Zakharova (6-3, 6-2), then Diana Shnaider (2-6, 6-3, 6-4). Before facing Tatjana Maria this Saturday in the semi-finals, Keys discussed the transition from clay to grass. "It was a very quick transition. I played on Wednesday on clay, then traveled on Thursday, and on Friday, I was already training on grass. It's probably the season where my transition between the two surfaces has been the fastest, but I am very happy to be at Queen's. When I saw that the tournament appeared on the calendar, I really wanted to come because I've always wanted to play here. The fact that it's a WTA 500 shows that it's a high-level tournament, and it's definitely a real challenge because the grass season is always very difficult, especially in women's tennis. In each tournament, the average ranking of the players who participate is very high, simply because there aren't many opportunities to play tournaments on this surface," concluded the 30-year-old player for Punto De Break.
